The Story
The grit was earned long before the first listing
Dustin Alexander did not ease into real estate. He committed to it fully, at a moment when that was anything but safe. No safety net, no inherited book of business, no shortcut. A wife, two kids, a mortgage, and a decision: he was not going to fail.
The grit was earned long before the first listing. He grew up just outside McComb, Mississippi, on a family farm where the work ran from sunup to sundown, horses to feed, kennels to clean, shifts at the Piggly Wiggly, and summers spent down in Louisiana with his uncle. At eighteen he followed his grandfather into the service, becoming a B-1B bomber crew chief at Ellsworth Air Force Base, where he led a maintenance team responsible for aircraft valued at a quarter of a billion dollars and earned a unit safety award two years running. The military taught him the thing that still defines how he works: when people are counting on you, the details are not optional.

The Decision
Do it now
After the Air Force he came straight to Louisiana, the place he had always wanted to call home, and spent nearly a decade as a process operator in the Geismar plants. Steady work, brutal hours, and a slow realization that he was missing the moments at home that mattered most. For the better part of a year he and his wife Brooke talked about a change. One night she said it plainly: Do it now. Quit now. I know you. You always find a way. You always tell me you do not fail at anything, and I believe you. He sent his resignation that night and enrolled in real estate school the next morning.
The Work
What happened next was not luck
What happened next was not luck. Licensed in August 2023, first try. First closing by December. A million-dollar month eight months in. From there, a home sold roughly every eleven days, and a place among Baton Rouge's top producers followed. He was nominated for Rising Star of the Year in 2024. The honors built through 2025: the August cover of Baton Rouge Real Producers, finalist recognition for both Male Producer of the Year and Cover of the Year, a Capital City's Finest honor, and a spot in the Top 100.

The Standard
The details nobody sees
But Dustin will tell you the numbers are the result, not the point. The real work is in the details nobody sees, he says. The late-night strategy. The contract language. The inspection issue that becomes a big problem if you miss it. The honest conversation when the easy answer is the wrong one. I love walking into something that feels complicated and saying, okay, give me a minute, we can figure this out.
That is what Sold by Dustin is built on. It is his personal brand under Alexander Realty, and it stands for one thing: real estate handled the right way. He serves buyers, sellers, and investors across East Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston, and West Baton Rouge, with a particular feel for the LSU market, for new construction, and for the veterans and military families whose moves he understands firsthand. Brooke, a criminal defense attorney here in Baton Rouge, is building the family's future alongside him, deal by deal, the same way he wants his clients to build theirs.
The Name
Why his name is on the sign
Ask him why his name is on the sign now, and the answer is simple. My name is on it because I am done hiding behind anything else. Alexander Realty gives him the foundation. Sold by Dustin gives him the identity. And his clients, dozens of them now leaving five-star reviews, give him the reason to keep building.
